Plant City Manager Megan Bresnehan joined GoLocal News Editor Kate Nagle LIVE on location where she spoke to the latest offerings at the plant-based food hall in Providence — including a full Thanksgiving menu — and a new app to provide both rapid delivery, and pick-up.

From jalapeño cheddar skillet cornbread, to garlic roasted green beans, to dutch apple pie, Plant City is offering an array of soups, mains, and sweets for order and pick-up — or dine in — on Thanksgiving to meet an array of dietary needs, including gluten-free options (see menu below).

Last March, GoLocal was first to report that Matthew Kenney — one of the biggest names in vegan cuisine in the country — was eying Providence to open Plant City.

It officially opened in June, offering two full floors of dining and shopping options, and class and events space as well, with sweeping views of the Providence River and new Pedestrian Bridge.

And in its first year, it will be open on Thanksgiving.

“All three of our dining concepts will be open at 12,” said Bresnehan, of the options available to diners looking to come to Plant City.

New Ordering Options -- And Putting "Cheese" Plates Together

Bresnahan spoke to how Plant City has recently launched its own app for iPhone and Android, for people to order online and either come to pick up — or have delivered.

Megan’s own personal story? She was lured to Providence — from New Haven, Connecticut — solely for the purpose of joining the team at Plant City.

“I saw it on Facebook — I did not know who was starting it, where it was going to be, it what it was — but I knew I had to be part of it!” she said.

And for those who might be interested in putting together the perfect “cheese” plate — Bresnahan walked viewers through some of the plant-based options available at Plant City to bring home and entertain — or just enjoy.

“I think this is what I might be having for dinner tonight, actually!” said Bresnahan.
