“There’s Some Nervousness,” Raimondo on Late Bloomberg, Patrick Entries in Dem Presidential Primary
Tuesday, November 26, 2019
Rhode Island Governor Gina Raimondo spoke with GoLocal LIVE about former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg and Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick entering the crowded Democratic presidential primary field vying for the nomination in 2020.
"The stakes are high — people understand how important it is we beat Donald Trump," said Raimondo. "I think there’s some nervousness and we want to make sure we have the right candidate to get the job done."
Bloomberg backed Raimondo in her gubernatorial efforts in Rhode Island in 2014 and 2018.

There are lot of people, including Deval Patrick, including former Mayor Bloomberg, who want to do everything they can to beat Donald Trump — and they are saying we’re going to jump in and leave everything on the field," said Raimondo.
Bloomberg and Patrick's entries come just weeks before the Iowa caucus in February.
"There’s a lot of people, myself included, who are excited to work hard for a nominee," Raimondo added. "I like our chances…Donald Trump’s a terrible president, he is beatable."
