This weekend’s events include Billy Gilman’s Home for the Holidays concert at The Vets, The RI Philharmonic Orchestra performing Handel’s Messiah, and Festival Ballet’s The Nutcracker. Plus so much more.

PC Basketball vs Stony Brook at Dunkin' Donuts Center 

The Providence College Friars men's basketball team will look to get back on the winning track on Saturday night when they host the Stony Brook Seawolves at the Dunkin' Donuts Center. 

PC has lost four of their last five games and enter the game with a record of 5-5 overall. 

Game time is set for 8 p.m.

“An Old Fashioned Christmas” at Hearthside House in Lincoln

Lincoln’s Hearthside House Museum is celebrating the holiday season with “An Old Fashioned Christmas.”

“Ever wonder why we hang Christmas stockings, why poinsettias, holly, and mistletoe became symbols of the holiday, or why a pickle ornament is so special among all the others on the tree?  Docents in period attire explain these and other traditions which have become part of our holiday celebrations today,” writes the Hearthside House.

The event goes from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.

Billy Gilman's Home for the Holidays Concert at The Vets

Gilman debuted onto the music scene in 2000 at the age of 11.

With the release of his first album “One Voice,” Billy became the youngest person to ever have a Top 5 debut album and a number one single on the Country Music Singles Chart.

Since then he has gone on to sell a whopping 10 million albums worldwide.

A holiday tradition and the most anticipated show of Artists’ Exchange, this year’s production is a fresh, original adaptation with a focus on the cyclical nature of time and the disparity between those who have the ability to give and those who are in need of receiving. Directed by Lauren Annicelli. Based on Charles Dickens’ classic novel.
