“I was truly inspired by all the applicants for the Kode With Karlie scholarship.Their depth, creativity and thoughtfulness is a testament to how these young women will change the world through code. It was incredibly difficult to select the recipients, as there were so many qualified and incredible candidates,” said Karlie Kloss.

The winners will be enrolled in the Flatiron School's Pre-College Academy's two-week summer coding class. The girls will learn a curriculum similar to the one that Karlie Kloss and other adult Flatiron School students including, HTML, CSS, and Ruby.

“Karlie is the perfect example of the changing landscape in the tech industry by breaking the archetype of the traditional programmer,” said Avi Flombaum, Dean at the Flatiron School.

The Flatiron School

The Flatiron School's Pre-College Academy is one of the nation's elite academies for web and mobile development and is available to teens across the country with locations not only in New York City but in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Miami, Chicago, Boston, Philadelphia and Austin.
