Buy Nothing Day Winter Coat Exchange to Distribute 1000’s of Coats

The 19th Annual Buy Nothing Day Winter Coat Exchange is set to take place on Friday, November 27th at 10 sites throughout Rhode Island. The exchange will distribute thousands of winter coats to Rhode Islanders in need.

The Greater Providence YMCA will distribute  coats at 4 sites, Cranston YMCA, Bayside Family YMCA, West Bay Family YMCA, and Kent County YMCA.

Local community volunteers will run sites in Warwick (Woodbury Union Church), Cumberland (St. Patrick's Church), Newport (St. Paul's United Methodist Church), Wakefield (St. Francis Church), Pawtucket (Salvation Army 102 High St), and Providence (between the State House and Mall.)

Those that have a winter coat to donate are encouraged to bring it to one of the distribution sites on the morning of November 27th and those who need a winter coat are encouraged to come to one of the sites to pick one up.

All coats not distributed the day of the event are handed to other charitable organizations to be distributed throughout the winter.
